CoVid-19 — An Invitation to Connect While Physically Distancing
During these strange times, the whole world is grieving, yet we as humans are coming together in uplifting, supportive ways. In difficult times we bond. We find human connection comes from the heart. We reach out, we offer support. We sing, we dance, we bang drums. We shout thanks. We distance physically. Many of us are sick or worried about an ailing loved one. Many of us are alone. Many of us feel cooped up, even with those we love, grown adult children, needy young children.
And, it’s all okay. What you feel is what you feel. Honour that. Give yourself permission to lean into those emotions and feelings. Be with them, notice them in your body.
Charles Dickens in the Tale of Two Cities so succinctly wrote “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.”
